CRUSHED!

If only he knew what I've done to him and his family, I would probably not be standing here right now. I would most likely be a lifeless body laying beneath this cliff. Telling the brother who stands ahead of me who has always cared and loved me and has never thought twice about putting my needs before his, will be the most difficult thing I have ever had to do in my life.

While growing up John has always been the 'better' child in our parents' eyes. He was the better student than me, the better sport player than me, the better good-looking one than me. I always came second. John even took me into his home with his own family. There was no other choice really, I mean I had no money, no job and no home. Throughout my teen years, I use to just say to myself 'I will find that special person one day who will love me and see me as the better one'. That day never came, but the dark side in me did. It came the day when John went out of town for business. That night I came back to his house completely drunk and out of my senses. I remembered opening the door to the sight of his beautiful wife in her pyjamas making her way up the stairs. All I remembered was a burning desire was raging inside me. I was forcing her onto her bed while her strong struggles against me persisted. Her moaning and groaning left me satisfied, thats when I walked out and quietly sneeked into my room, making sure not to wake their two sons.

Waking up in the morning and remembering the sinful act I had commited, left me crushed. How could I have done that to the poor woman who took me into her home and to my brother, John. When John came home that night, it was as if everything was normal with his wife. She had not said a word to him about what I had done to her. This had made it even worse considering how much she wanted to keep this family together and she knew it would kill her husband who thought the world of his brother. Days passed , turning into weeks, when I finally realized I had to tell John the truth or else I would not be able to live with myself.

I thought of no better place than to bring my brother to reveal the truth to him than the cliff we use to hike up to every holiday. It kills me inside to see him just standing there taking in the beautiful scene that surrounded us. He looks so content with life, standing there like a statue. I have to tell him now, knowing that in an instant the way he views his perfect life will all be crushed and destroyed by none other than me, his own flesh and blood. I've always been a nobody and nothing, which is why after I tell him, I will plunge towards the death I most certainly deserve, while he watches my life going into a distant till my bones crush to the ground.

Teenager visits the doctor

(ages-15-18) (Just because a teenager is going to a doctor does not mean something is wrong with him/her, one should not jump to conclusions)
March 12,2009 Teenager Visiting Doctors Reported by:Amelia Gopual
15 year old Priscilla Gopaul will be making a visit to the doctors office this week, the reason for the visit is unknown to all.

Priscilla Gopaul, daughter of Caroline and Sooklal Gopaul will be taking a trip to Dr. Buckadarian's office on Thursday, March 12. The reason for this sudden visit is unknown, but eyewitnesses are arriving to all sorts of conclusions. Some believe that Priscilla may be pregnant as they have seen her sneaking in a mysterious boy into the apartment when her parents are not at home. Other's speculate that Priscilla has some sort of terrible, contagious rash on her skin, as they have seen her often scratching her arms and neck quite frequently.

The appointment is believed to have been made by Priscilla's mom, Caroline Gopaul on Tuesday afternoon. According to Dr. Buckadarian's Secretary, Maria Sheely says; "Yes, Mrs. Gopaul had called the office on Tuesday afternoon. She inquired about the available appointments the doctor has open and immediately booked Thursday, March 12 at 1 p.m. Initially I thought that the appointment was for herself or Sooklal. When she said it's for Priscilla I was a bit shocked because to my knowledge Priscilla does not like doctors."

Priscilla's mom, Caroline Gopaul was unavailable for comment but Sooklal Gopaul, her dad did have this to say;"Honestly, I don't know the circumstances under which Priscilla is attending the doctor's appointment for. Priscilla more prefers to discuss these personal things with her mom than me as it is usually awkward for a dad. I don't want to pry and demand to know 'why', but I'm sure it's nothing very serious." When asked if he will be attending Priscilla's appointment, Sooklal says;"Actually during that time, I will be working, so I believe that my wife will be going with her."

This has come to a shock to all since Priscilla does not usually go to the doctors often, not even for routine check-ups. From this it is strongly believed that Priscilla is not just going for a routine check up, but for something perhaps more serious.

Mother All Laid Up!

(ages 30-45) (a familt can't constantly rely on their moms to take care of everything, take some responsibility and do it yourself)
Wed, March 11,2009 Mother laid up in bed Reported by:Amelia Gopaul
Caroline Gopaul, 45 years old is now restrained to a bed. Mother of two has come down with the flu just recently and is strictly limited to bed rest in her apartment.

Caroline Gopaul who is known for her completing ongoing chores and tasks and even goes to the extent of not sleeping or eating until the house work is complete has been confined to her bed. She is the mother of two daughters and the wife to her husband who don't have 'time' to do have the work in the house. Caroline is the the one who cleans up after the three and even cooks. According to the family, Caroline goes outside in the cold weather without dressing warmly or wearing a jacket. This seems to be the cause of her flu. At the moment Caroline is still very sick with the typical symptoms of the flu; a stuffy nose, a sore throat and a hoarse cough.

Caroline also at the moment is on a leave of absence from her workplace;Sobey's grocery store. Her supervisor states; "We greatly miss Caroline at the moment. She is the fastest cashier in her and we really do need her. The customers who came in today were inquiring about where their favourite cashier is. We wish her a speedy recovery because she brings in the money for us."

Caroline's husband, Sooklal Gopaul takes it a step further by saying he is praying for her recovery; "I warned her to wear her jacket before she gets sick and has to be laid up for weeks, but she didn't listen. Now i am left with all of her responsibilities and on top of that i have to manage my office job. The kids are driving me crazy with their constant complaining of how i can't cook. I am praying for the sake of the health of my children so that they don't get sick from my cooking, I just want my wife to get better soon."

Caroline Gopaul was unavailable for comment as she was terribly sick, but we certainly do wish her a speedy recovery maybe not as much as her family however.

Dad changing roles

(ages 25-45, The purpose is so that others can realize that roles amongst a household do not just have to be limited to a certain person or by what society teaches, it can change)
Tues, March 10, 2009 Dad does the unexpected reported by:Amelia Gopaul of Toronto Star

48 year old, Sooklal Gopaul was seen by his teenage daughter, washing the dishes in the sink on Monday night at his apartment. Due to his wife coming down with the flu, Sooklal took it upon himself to do the right thing.

On Monday, March 9 at around 9:00 p.m, Sooklal Gopaul made sure to complete the task his wife usually does; washing the dishes. After a family dinner, witnesses say they overheard Sooklal and his wife Caroline arguing about who will wash the dirty dishes that laid in the sink. While Caroline said she was well enough to stand there and do it, her husband Sooklal replied that the doctor told her she needs rest and should not be working. Both daughters also heard that it was mom who gave in and said 'fine'. Although both daughters don't know for sure, they believe that Caroline was quite happy with the decision.

Both daughters said they saw their dad in front of the sink for about half and hour. He had an expression of exhaustion and regret. They say that when he was finished he immediately went to wash himself up and get ready for bed. What came as a surprise to the family, was that the next day when they examined the china set, it was exceptionally well cleaned with no sign of food.

Caroline Gopaul, wife of the good doer says in a nasally voice; "For surely just as any wife would be to see her husband washing the dishes, came as a surprise and you can even say a shock. It's always reassuring to know that my husband cares a lot for me and wants to see me all better. He has never done something like this before. Usually while i wash the dishes, he is usually catching the last half and hour of some sports game on TV. I hope i get sick more often, to bring out this wonderful type of behaviour in my husband."
Sadie Gopaul, daughter of the family just can't believe what her dad did; "When i told my friends at school about this, they were all laughing at him. They were like 'OMG is your dad like the mom of the house to do something like that?' I told them 'I know i can't believe it either'. I really don't want this to prolong because i don't want my friends to think my dad is like a mom or something, you know what i mean? I just hope mom gets better soon so that he can go back to do the manly chores."

Family psychologist, Terrance Kublalsingh says; "This practise among many families is becoming more common each day. The roles of what a mother does and what a father does are gradually starting to meet and co-mingle. It's great that dads are doing more to help out in the household."
We hope that Sooklal Gopaul will set a good example for all the other dads in the society.

She Finally Did It!

Mon, March 9,2009 SHE FINALLY DID IT! Reported By: Amelia Gopaul
15 year old Priscilla Ramlochan took it upon herself to carry out a big responsibility on her shoulder;taking out the garbage to the garbage shoot on her apartment floor.
On Saturday, March 7,2009, 15 year old Priscilla Ramlochan performed the duty of taking out not one but two full stinky garbage bags. This has certainly come as a surprise to Gowan neighbourhood, as Priscilla has never done before.
According to a number of eyewitnesses living on the seventh floor, they say they heard a door being opened and the rustling of what sounded like bags. Two eyewitnesses who looked into their peepholes said they saw Priscilla holding the two bags in front of her and she then closed the door behind her. Priscilla was quickly walking through the hall barefoot. Every now and then she would for some reason turn around mabey to see if someone was coming; she looked cautious. Eyewitnesses also added that Priscilla in a haste opened the door to the garbage shoot and quickly dumped bag after bag of the garbage. Priscilla then was running back to her apartment where she closed the door behind her.
19 year old David Sanchopolous who is a friendly neighbour said; "When I looked through that peephole and saw Priscilla, I thought Oh My God, it's a miracle! What brought this on in her, i thought for the rest of the night."
The superintendent of #60 Gowan avenue also has something to say in this miraculous event;"From what I heard, Priscilla is a couch potato, she detests cleaning and especially taking out the garbage. It's reassuring to know that Priscilla has decided to contribute to ensuring the cleanliness of our building. It makes my job that much easier to not have rodents and flies attracting to the garbage onside an apartment.
Priscilla's parents, Caroline and Sooklal were at work at the time of the event but did have this to say; "When we found out from the neighbours of what a good deed Priscilla had done, we simply thought they were pulling a prank on us. But when we asked Priscilla herself if this was true, she said yes. We are indeed proud of having raised such a wonderful daughter who knows what the right thing to do is. I just hope we live to see such a miraculous event occur again."
We certainly do hope to see more of such good being done in our society. But for now here's to Priscilla Ramlochan.

STOP

Once upon a time,
there was a boy who just couldn't stop his rhyme.
He tried and tried and tried,
until he cried and cried and cried.

He wondered through the woods,
and met a boy who had a lot of goods.
Do you have anything for my rhymes? he asked
No answer from the boy who was masked.

He continued to ask and ask throughout the day,
until he heard,'you won't get anything until you pay.
The boy pulled out some money,
and in return got some honey.

He swallowed it, then had to wait
his rhyming continued, he realized the boy used his as bait.
He walked and stoped in front of a book,
it read, put those rhymes to cook.

He opened it to a spell
and it wished him well.
He no longer spoke with rhyme,
and better yet he earned back his dime.

Still living without them

Blinded through the eyes,
where sight lies.
Distinguishing feeling; sometimes soft or hard,
I still know the way through my yard.

Hearing outside all the sounds
this sense just has no bounds.
My sense of smell is so good,
that I can smell a bandit in my hood.

Without them, I barely have to try,
but sometimes you'll hear a cry.
They are dead, my eyes
but it doesn't mean with them my senses dies.

Beauty of Landscape

Witness it's beauty with your eyes,
you'll see that it never dies.
Witness it's freshness with your nose,
just come and take a dose.

It surrounds you with it's embrace,
you'll see it stands with so much grace.
Sending to you a slight breeze,
you'll see it never ceases to freeze.

It stands throughout time so still,
you'll never hear yourself say, until...
It's scenic view is infinite,
you'll love it, is definite.

It's just a dream!

All he wants is to see me dead,
don't worry, it's all in my head.
I think to myself, it's just another one,
in a minute, it'll all be done.

His sharp, long machete, gives me a scare,
oh this is all I can bare.
Hiding behind a tree on a silent cold night,
oh no! he sees me in sight!

I run as fast as I can, but it seems like no use,
looking back, his face shows nothing but amuse.
Tripping over a stick, I fell
what he was going to do, I could tell

Twisting and turning on my bed,
all in my head is the color red.
It's just a dream, I say
time to get on with my day.
